Responsibilities: ByteDance operates massive big data infrastructures to serve its hundreds of millions worldwide users and 30 billion user requests every day. We use extensively open source systems like Spark, HDFS, Elastic Search, Kafka, NSQ, ClickHouse, Cassandra and many more. Often times, the original design of the systems may not take into account the scale we have today. Therefore, we improve, rewrite or even build complete new systems. You will Become an expert in one or more domains like message queue systems, distributed file/blob systems, batch processing pipelines, indexing/search systems, data analytics systems, relational databases, distributed database/key-value stores, cache systems etc. Operate large scale infrastructures as a service and make sure internal clients use them correctly. Identify bottlenecks/issues and implement solutions. Automate monitoring and operations as much as possible. Improve or rewrite key modules. Propose and develop in-house large scale systems.
