One of the key factors of GM sustainability in the highly competitive and digitalized financial environment of tomorrow is its ability to provide to our clients, employees, and stakeholders the integrity and safety they expect across all domains, in a perfectly streamlined manner, with uncompromising Conduct Our businesses are the first line of defence with respect to Conduct and Control, and it is one of the key responsibilities of GM staff and managers to act accordingly. The Chief Conduct & Control Officer (“CCCO”) is responsible for establishing and deploying a strong conduct & permanent control framework on all non-financial risks (operational, conduct and regulatory) throughout the 1LOD (First Line of Defence) for BNP Pairbas Bank Polska SA and BNP Paribas Branch in Poland perimeter and ensuring close coordination with the 2LOD. The CCCO together with the Senior Management has the responsibility to identify and assess non-financial risks and to ensure that the controls and other responses that treat risk are enforced and monitored for compliance. This includes the following key responsibilities: Core Responsibilities: 1. Embed a conduct and control mindset in all facets of the business: Act as an Ambassador of the BNPP Code of Conduct within the first line of defence Front-to-Operations Develop and implement culture-oriented initiatives (e.g., awareness campaigns, trainings) Embed conduct and control mindset in hiring, appraisals, and promotion of business lines staff 2. Define and enhance the control framework across GM Front-to-Operations : Establish standards for defining the risk cartography, and implementing, evaluating, tracking, reporting, and testing of controls, in close link with other functions involved at 1LOD and 2LOD especially ITO, RISK and Compliance Monitor roadmap and priorities in alignment with the GM CCCO Review periodically existing control framework with proposed enhancements, including mechanisms for feedback loops Monitor market practices and regulatory guidance to ensure framework remains on par with peers and supervisory expectations Anticipate potential future areas of regulatory, conduct and operational risks Assess qualification of the Conduct & Control staffing resources and adjust size and expertise where necessary 3. Ensure a proper oversight of conduct and control matters Oversee and delivery of improvement plans based on material weaknesses identified in the annual self-assessment Tightly monitor the closure of IG, RISK ORC, Regulatory, or Auditors’ findings Contribute to establish standards for reporting (risk footprint, indicators, heat map, controls effectiveness) Oversee of annual self-assessment review for each major function/business to ensure regulatory compliance and practice in line with internal requirements Coordinate the controls design, testing, assessment, and monitoring between 1LOD and 2LOD, including closure of IG or regulatory findings Coordinate effectively the linkage and the division of roles & responsibilities between the 1LOD and the 2LOD Identify and resolve obstacles/interdependencies Launch any necessary programs or other efforts to ensure regulatory compliance or a well-functioning conduct/controls framework monitoring 4. Facilitation of relevant governance bodies on the topics of conduct, operational controls, and regulatory compliance Contribute actively to Internal Control Committee Prepare appropriate materials and presentations for the various supervisory bodies (the Senior Management, the Boards, the Regulators) Propose changes in local governance of Conduct & Control committees structure to ensure effectiveness as deemed necessary 5. Manage the teams placed under his/her responsibility and coordinate the network of OPC and Conduct stakeholders on a Front-to-Operations base. Requirements: Conduct - is a role model, supporting and fostering a culture of good Conduct, demonstrates proactivity, transparency, and accountability for identifying and managing all non-financial risks Team Management - proven ability to manage small team, delegate tasks, build accountability framework. Market, Product and Business Experience - good knowledge across a range of products with a deep expertise in FX and IR Derivatives; Technical knowledge on the Capital Markets Front Office perimeter covered (processes, controls, information systems, risks, functions) Previous experience of working in an operational risk environment - demonstrates a good awareness of risk and fundamental risk concepts (regulations, processes). Familiarity with audit methodology (ability to structure an approach, formalization of work done, substantiation and justification of conclusions, ability to perform substantive tests when necessary) Strong analytical and numeracy skills Attention to detail and accuracy Fluency in English (written and spoken)
