In response to FCA conduct requirements, BNP Paribas established a First Line of Defence Surveillance function within Global Markets. The FOCS (Front Office Control & Surveillance) team monitors each Global Business Line’s Trading & Sales business activity and electronic Communications, with the objective of deterring, detecting, and preventing Conduct Risk breaches. Your main responsibilities are to: Support the local senior FOCS officer in: monitoring and responding to ‘alerts’ whether communication or trading related, opening case management files as required and escalating to your local senior FOCS team officer to take the action forward or to clarify an alert; supporting your senior FOCS team member through updating and collating documentation and helping produce and generate weekly and monthly MI and presentation packs as required; working with your senior FOCS team member to refine and improve the effective monitoring of communications and trades, helping to ensure compliance with appropriate rules, regulations and company policies and procedures; help and support 2nd LOD functions (Compliance, HR, etc) with their investigations and analysis as and when required; collaborate and maintain a good relationship with the global FOCS team, desk heads and senior management and attend and contribute to FOCS team meetings; follow desk procedures and governance and escalate anything if unsure. Qualifications & Experience: Compliance, control function or trading background with 1 years of related professional experience Basic understanding across a range of Foreign Exchange and Rates products. An understanding of Equity Derivatives and Commodities would be an additional advantage Proficiency in English and Polish, including industry jargon. Advanced Russian language skills - capability to review e-communication (chats and mails) in Russian and ability to listen and understand voice calls Awareness of Conduct Initiatives within the Bank and BNP Paribas Group Advanced knowledge of Excel is essential Bloomberg and Reuters knowledge would be an advantage Business Risk Awareness: ability to demonstrate proactivity, transparency, and accountability for identifying and managing conduct risks Be a role model, supporting and fostering a culture of good conduct Key Personal Skills & Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills Highly organized, efficient and able to multi-task Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work on own initiative Stress-resistant and flexible Significant attention to detail Ability to develop relationships across various global stakeholders including Legal and Compliance
